MOTEUR F28 DE FPT INDUSTRIAL « DIESEL OF THE YEAR^® »

À peine lancé et déjà champion : le moteur F28 de FPT Industrial, présenté au mois de novembre, a reçu son premier titre, « Diesel of the Year^® ». La revue Diesel décerne une fois par an ce prix prestigieux pour récompenser la meilleure innovation en développement et fabrication des moteurs diesel dans toutes les applications industrielles et automobiles.

This year, the international jury selected the F28 engine for its melting pot of winning characteristics: compactness, efficiency and respect for the environment. This compact engine is the perfect solution for agricultural equipment, including specialized tractors and small utility tractors, as well as for light construction machinery, such as skid steer loaders and skid steer loaders.




In terms of sustainable development, the F28 shows first-rate references, since it meets Stage V and Tier 4 Final emission standards by benefiting from the brand's ultra compact post-treatment system which incorporates a diesel oxidation catalyst. (DOC) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF) for the European market, and only the DOC catalyst for North America. Same configuration for the two regions.

The jury particularly appreciated the modular approach of this engine. Available in diesel and natural gas versions, it is also ready for use in hybrid electric mode. The 100% natural gas (NG) version has the same displacement and the same interface as the diesel version, with common basic components and a three-way catalyst in the post-treatment system, confirming the brand's motto "For performance equivalent to that of diesel ”.

F28 NG will further reduce its polluting emissions to further respect the environment. When it runs on biomethane, its CO2 emissions will even approach zero. Biomethane production also contributes to a circular economy, not only by reducing greenhouse gases, but also restoring organic matter to the soil and helping local farmers to lower production costs.

FPT Industrial is the only engine manufacturer to have received the Diesel of the Year^® award three times in a row, first for the 3.2-liter F32 in 2008 and for the Cursor 16 in 2014.
